fzf (Go) — :cherry_blossom: A command-line fuzzy finder
You live in a terminal and want history, file and branch selection to be search rather than scrollback.
CLI & Dev Tools
A fuzzy finder that takes any list on stdin and makes it interactively searchable. That description undersells it. Wired into your shell it rewrites how you use a terminal: Ctrl-R becomes a searchable command history, file arguments become a filter-as-you-type picker, and it composes with git, ripgrep, kill and anything else that emits lines. Go, MIT, and it has been maintained at a consistent standard for a decade. The tradeoff is the learning curve on the composition side — the basic install is instant, but the configurations that make people evangelical require reading other people's dotfiles and understanding shell plumbing. Worth the afternoon.
You live in a terminal and want history, file and branch selection to be search rather than scrollback.
You work primarily in an IDE and rarely touch a shell.
